HELLO / HEJ / 你好!
This summer, we remained undaunted even in the face of the mercury-topping temperatures, and successfully brought a number of our projects to completion. Now, we are eagerly anticipating the approaching autumn and the excitement it will bring.

In this edition of our newsletter, we are proud to share some of the latest happenings at Muraya, including the results of the Successful Design Award and the activity of our design studio The Room in Phnom Penh. We will also clear up a “misconception” about Scandinavian design.  Finally, we have highlighted one of our exciting recent design projects in the “Spotlight” section. Enjoy!

In 1984, Muraya started in Stockholm, the heart of Sweden as a company dedicated to Scandinavian Design. As the company grew, Interior Design and Construction became Muraya’s specialty. arrowRead more about Muraya
We heart our office
We recently gave our Shanghai office a “make over.” We added more meeting areas, while keeping the open workspace environment, and worked hand-in-hand with several of our long-term partners - many of which are Swedish brands, such as the fashionable carpet-maker BOLON and high-quality wallpaper producer WALLVISION. We would also like to thank SHAW for providing us with the carpet in our main work space.

We remain grateful to all our vendor partners for their kind collaboration, and welcome visits to our “new” office any time!
Celebrating Successful Designs
Do you remember when we were nominated for the Successful Design Awards? The results are in, and our entry – The SAP Shanghai office building project – won one of the prestigious awards in the commercial space category. We are always happy to receive recognition for our work, but nothing tops the satisfaction of exceeding our clients’ expectations.
We are hiring

We are always searching for energetic talents to join our team. Currently, we're looking for interior designers and graphic designers. If you're interested in learning about Scandinavian design and working on a wide variety of projects, please send us your CV and portfolio to hr@muraya.com.

Workplace "hygiene"

Did you know that your workplace has disturbance factors? Noise, temperature, and air quality are all examples of tangible workplace hygiene factors that can distract employees and impact productivity. The Room x UNICEF
Our Design Studio in Cambodia, The Room, is hard at work on many remarkable projects, including the brand new UNICEF office. Located in the new Hong Kong Land building in central Phnom Penh, this office covers an entire 1,200 square-meter floor space.

UNICEF first began working in Cambodia in 1952, and as Cambodia transitioned toward stability over the years, UNICEF has continued to build on its strong cooperation with the government to improve the lives of women and children in the country.

Sharing UNICEF’s vision for a better world, we are committed to carrying out this project with great care, and delivering exceptional results to the client.

The Room is Muraya’s Southeast Asia entity and provides a full range of design services including landscape, architectural, exterior, interior, signage, brand identity and more. To get in touch, please visit The Room website.
What is a Swedish designed office…?
Scandinavian design is not necessarily all about clean lines and pale colors - although these design elements do lift the spirits during those long dark winter days. So, what exactly is Scandinavian design? Muraya has been in the business of office design for more than half a century, and while no two projects are ever the same, we do take inspiration from Sweden’s workplace principles based on our homeland’s cultural values, lifestyles and traditions. Aesthetics aside, you can read about the essential Swedish Office 101 here.
Spotlight project: Kimberly-Clark
With a history of more than half a decade of cooperation, Kimberly Clark is one of our long-term clients. We have successfully completed both phases of design and construction for the company’s Nanjing facility (a LEED GOLD project), and now, we are working on the Kimberly-Clark new office and production facility in Tianjin. Construction is underway and we will be sure to share the photos once it is completed.
