Nobel Week Is Coming Up
2017 Nobel Prize Award Ceremonies
The new Nobel Laureates take center stage on 10 December in Stockholm and Oslo, where the 12 Laureates will receive their Nobel Prizes and enjoy the Nobel Banquets afterwards. Nobelprize.org will provide live-streams of the Nobel Lectures and the award ceremonies, as well as photos and interviews with the Laureates. The activities start on 6 December - also on Facebook, Twitter, YouTube and Instagram.

The Nobel Week Starts
After two months in the limelight since the announcements in October, the year's Nobel Laureates finally arrive in Stockholm or Oslo from various parts of the world to collect their prizes. The week draws focus on the new Laureates and their contributions to the greatest benefit to mankind. This old video clip shows author Sinclair Lewis after he arrived in Stockholm in December 1930.

"I will continue this fight until I see every child, every child in school"
During Nobel Week, the Nobel Laureates give their official Nobel Lectures, which describe the history and background of their discoveries, literature or prize awarded work. For Nobel Peace Prize Laureate Malala Yousafzai, this was an opportunity to get her message out: "We must be able to give every child quality education".

Life after Nobel
"Because I've won the Nobel Prize, I still get invited to do lots of interesting things," says Richard Roberts, who was awarded the Medicine Prize in 1993 for the discovery of split genes. In this recent interview, he talks about everything from his love of discovery to what impact the Nobel Prize had on his life.

Through her outstanding scientific contributions and her unpretentious manner, she became one of the most admired personalities of her time.
